Topic:Different Ingredients. Grammar. Present simple passive

Objectives:

  • to learn about Present simple passive and using it in the context correctly;
  • to make a presentation of snack for a factory;
  • to develop students’ writing and speaking skills;
  • to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to talk about cooking

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

           

Plan

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 4. The icons of the lesson.

Slide 5-6. Mystery Objects (Guessing Game).

Main activity:

Slide 7-8. Work with Student’s Book. GRAMMAR  Present simple passive  Look at the sentences from the article. The verbs are in the present simple passive. Find  other examples of the present simple passive in the text on page 108 and complete the rules (ex.1, p.109)

Slide 9-10. Work with Student’s Book. Complete the text with the present simple or present simple passive form of the verb (ex.2, p.109)

Slide 11-12. Work with Student’s Book. Rewrite the sentences in the passive. You don’t need to say who does the action (ex.3, p.109)

Slide 13-14. Work with Student’s Book. Choose the correct options (ex.4, p.109)

Slide 15. Work with Student’s Book. In pairs, invent a snack. Draw a picture of it and describe what it is like and how it is made. Read your description to the class (ex.5, p.109)

Slide 16. Work with Student’s Book. While you are listening to the other descriptions, imagine you are the manager of a food company. Decide which new snack you are going to make (ex.6, p.109)
