Objectives:

• to read a text about the population of Ukraine;
• to read a poem;
• to compare the geographical positions of Ukraine and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland;
• to complete the table;
• to write back an e-mail to the pen friend;
• to develop the students’ reading, speaking and writing skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: by the end of the lesson, the students will be able to compare the geographical positions of Ukraine and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, to retell about the population of Ukraine, to write an e-mail.
