Objectives:

• to have practice in using passive structures in the context;
• to improve speaking skills;
• to arrange a quiz competition game;
• to develop students’ creativity and writing and speaking skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to speak about the United Kingdom

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

Main activity:

Slide 7-9. Work with Student’s Book. Read and say using passive structures ( ex.8, p. 228)

Slide 10-11. Work with Student’s Book. Give the corresponding words for the following definitions ( ex.9, p. 228)

Slide 12-14. Work with Student’s Book. Work in pairs. Look at the map of the world and say what countries Ukraine (the USA, France, the UK) borders ( ex.10, p. 229)

Slide 15-17. Work with Student’s Book. Work in pairs. Ask and answer about the UK ( ex.11, p.229)

Slide 18-20. Work with Student’s Book. Work in pairs. Do the quiz (ex.12, p.229)

Slide 21. Gymnastic for the eyes.
