Objectives:

• to speak about teen problems;
• to improve listening skills through doing tasks;
• to write a post for a forum;
• to have practice in giving advices;
• to develop students’ listening and writing skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to talk about problems

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 4. The icons of the lesson.

Slide 5. Advice Chain.

Main activity:

Slide 6-7. Work with Student’s Book. LISTEN  Listen to a girl calling a teenage  helpline and write T for True or F for False  (ex.2, p.87)

Slide 8. Work with Student’s Book. SPEAK  Talk in pairs. Go to the Pair work activities section (ex.3, p.87)

Slide 9-11. Work with Student’s Book. WRITE  A) Read the tip in the Writing section at the back of the book and complete the blanks 1-6 with the phrases a-f (ex.4, p.87)

Slide 12-13. Work with Student’s Book. WRITE  B) Read this post on a forum and write a reply giving advice (ex.4, p.87)

Slide 14. Gymnastic for the eyes.

Practice:

       Slide 15-17. Work in Workbook. B)  Read the situations below and give advice. Use should or shouldn’t and prompts in the box  (ex.2, p.76)
