Objectives:

• to speak about music styles, our likes and dislikes;
• to improve listening skills;
• to research the Beatles as a new era in music;
• to develop students’ creativity and listening and writing skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to speak music styles

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Main activity:

 Slide 6-8. Work with Student’s Book. a) Say if you have ever heard The Beatles. Do the quiz. (Find appropriate information on the internet) (ex.4,p.150)

Slide 9-10. Work with Student’s Book . b) Before listening to the dialogue between the girl and her granny, check the meaning of these words in the dictionary ( ex.4, p.150)

Slide 11-13. Work with Student’s Book. c) Listen to and read the dialogue. Then answer the questions (ex.4,p.150)

Slide 14 Gymnastic for the eyes.

Slide 15. Interactive task .

Slide 16-17. Work with Student’s Book. a) Complete the questions with the correct forms of the verbs in brackets. Then answer them (ex.5,p.153)

 Slide 18-19. Work with Student’s Book. b) Go back to the talk and find the missing prepositions (ex.5,p.153)

Slide 20-21. Work with Student’s Book. c) Write at least 4 sentences about yourself using the words in bold (adjectives) + prepositions (ex.5,p.153)
