Objectives:

• to find out the role of the book in our life;
• to work with text about books;
• to have practice in expressing own opinion;
• to develop students’ creativity and reading and speaking skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to speak about role of the book in our life

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 4. The icons of the lesson.

Slide 5. Cryptogram.

Main activity:

Slide 6-11. Work with Student’s Book. Read and complete the sentences after the text (ex.1,p.114)

Slide 12-14. Work with Student’s Book . Make up sentences using the tables ( ex.2, p.116)

Slide 15-17. Work with Student’s Book. Read and guess the meaning of the words in bold ( ex.3, p.116)

Slide 18. Gymnastic for the eyes.

Slide 19. Comprehension Questions.

Practice:

Slide 20-21. Work with Working Book. Circle an odd word in each group (ex.1, p.52)

Slide 22-23. Work with Working Book. Look at the kinds of books below and decided if it is fiction or non-fiction. Write ‘F’ or ‘NF’ next to each book (ex.2, p.52)
