Objectives:

• to have practice in using Past Continuous ;
• to read about rules in British school and make own opinion;
• to write the charter for your ‘perfect school’;
• to develop students’ creativity and speaking and writing skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to speak about role of school in our life

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

Warm-up:

Main activity:

Slide 6-8. Work with Student’s Book. Write true sentences. Use the past Continuous ( positive or negative) (ex.1,p.98)

Slide 9-11. Work with Student’s Book . Write questions in the Past Continuous. Give short answer too ( ex.2, p.98)

Slide 12-13. Work with Student’s Book. a) Read the extracts to find out more about rules in British schools ( ex.3, p.98)

Slide 14. Chatter Box.

Slide 15-16. Work with Student’s Book. b) Compare the things you have read about with the rules in your school. What is similar? What is different? Which things are you eager to adopt in your school? Work in pairs ( ex.3, p.99)

Slide 17-19. Work with Student’s Book. a) Work in groups. Read the charter. Write down the charter for your ‘perfect school’ ( ex.4, p.100)
