Objectives:

• to speak about travelling around Ukraine;
• to have practice in reading through doing tasks;
• to do the crossword;
• to label the compass;
• to develop students’ reading and writing skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to talk about holidays

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 4. The icons of the lesson.

Slide 5. Word Association.

Main activity:

Slide 6-9. Work with Student’s Book. READ A) Look at the map of Ukraine and the travel blog. Read the text and match the missing headings a-d with days 1-4. Then listen and check your answers (ex.1, p.36)

Slide 10-13. Work with Student’s Book. READ B) Read again and correct the mistakes in the sentences below (ex.1, p.36)

Slide 14-15. Work with Student’s Book. READ C) Find adjectives in the text which are similar in meaning to the words/phrases below (ex.1, p.36)

Slide 16. Gymnastic for the eyes.

Practice:

 Slide 17-18. Work in Workbook. A) Complete the sentences 1-6. Then do the crossword (ex.1, p.32)

Slide 19-20. Work in Workbook. B) Complete the sentences with the words in the box. There are three extra words that you do not need to use (ex.1, p.32)
