Objectives:

• to talk about the value of a kind word;
• to learn the new vocabulary;
• to make up the sentences with new words;
• to do a newspaper quiz;
• to broaden students’ vocabulary;
• to develop the students’ speaking skills;
• to encourage students’ understanding of importance of studying.

Outcomes: by the end of the lesson, the students will be able to give the definitions of the new words, to use the new vocabulary in speech, to tell about mass media.

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

Warm-up:

Main activity:

Slide 5. Work with Student’s Book. Listen, read and say if a kind word is really never thrown away and if it is important to say kind words. Do you like to get messages with kind words? (ex.1, p.47)

Slide 8. Work with Student’s Book. Read the words and their definitions and make up sentences with these words. (ex.2, p.47)
