Objectives:

• to speak about real friends;
• to make the simile ;
• do questionnaire for testing a good friends;
• to develop students’ listening and reading skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to talk about real friends

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

Plan

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 4. The icons of the lesson.

Slide 5. React to the following phrases.

Main activity:

Slide 6-7. Work with Student’s Book. Work in pairs. Ask and answer about your partner’s plans. You/Your partner have/has some ideas (ex.1, p.46)

Slide 8-11. Work with Student’s Book. Match the words to make up a simile. Use them in sentences of your own (ex.2, p.46)

Slide 12. Complete Friendship Proverbs.

Slide 13-14. Work with Student’s Book. Read the words and say what kind of people made good (true) friends ( ex.3, p.47)

Slide 15. Gymnastic for the eyes.

Slide 16-18. Work with Student’s Book. Do the questionnaire and test yourself to find out if it is easy to be a good friend ( ex.4, p.47)

Slide 19-21. Work with Student’s Book . Speak on the theme ‘Friendship as I See it’. Work in groups. The following questions will help you ( ex.5, p.48)
