Objectives:

  • to read and discuss the proverbs;
  • to work in pairs, asking what the food you like and dislike to eat;
  • to learn the new vocabulary;
  • to match the words with their definitions;
  • to make up the sentences with new words;
  • to develop the students’ communicative competence;
  • to encourage understanding and tolerance to others.

Outcomes: by the end of the lesson, the students will be able to use the new vocabulary in speech, to talk about the healthy food.

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

 

Plan

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 4. The icons of the lesson.

Main activity:

Slide 5. Work with Student’s Book. Look at the pictures and say what we are going to talk about at our lesson. (ex.1, p.19)

Slide 6. Look at the pictures and say what we are going to talk about at our lesson.

Slide 7. Work with Student’s Book. Read these proverbs and sayings and discuss in class. (ex.2, p.19)

Slide 8-12. Read a proverb or saying and discuss in class.

Slide 13. Work with Student’s Book. Work in pairs. Ask each other what the food you like and dislike to eat. (ex.3, p.19)

Slide 14. Work with Student’s Book. Read and discuss in class. Food is fuel. Our minds and bodies depend on it because of the energy for being healthy and strong. But what do you think of this expression: “You are what you eat”? (ex.4, p.19)
