Objectives:

• to review our knowledge related to sport;
• to have practice in making your own sentences in the Past Continuous by the phrases with play, go and do;
• to make a poster about sport in Ukraine;
• to develop students’ speaking and writing skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to talk about sport

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Main activity:

Slide 7-8. Work with Student’s Book. Make nouns from the words in the box (ex.7, p.106)

Slide 9-10. Work with Student’s Book. a) Fill in play, do or go (ex.8, p.106)

Slide 11-12. Work with Student’s Book. b) Make your own six sentences in the Past Continuous with the phrases above (ex.8, p.106)

Slide 13-14. Work with Student’s Book. Say what equipment is used for each kind of sport, as in the example (ex.9, p.106)

Slide 15-16. Work with Student’s Book. a) Answer the questions quickly (ex.10, p.107)

Slide 17. Work with Student’s Book. b) Interview your classmate (ex.10, p.107)
