Objectives:

• to read about The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and doing tasks ;
• to speak about person using adjectives of personality;
• to write sentences about a partner;
• to develop students’ writing and speaking skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to talk about person

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

 

Plan

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 4. The icons of the lesson.

Slide 5. About You.

Main activity:

Slide 6-8. Work with Student’s Book. VOCABULARY AND READING Read the poster and look at the photos. Then answer the questions in pairs (ex.1, p.10)

Slide 9-12. Work with Student’s Book. Read the emails on page 11. Answer the questions with Daniel or Grace (ex.2, p.10)

Slide 13-16. Work with Student’s Book. Check the meaning of the words in the email on page 11. Then use them to complete the sentences. Listen, check and repeat (ex.3, p.10)

Slide 17. Work with Student’s Book. Write sentences about a partner using the adjectives in Ex.3. Give them to a teacher to read out for the class and guess who they are about (ex.4, p.10)

Slide 18. Gymnastic for the eyes.

Practice:

Slide 19-20. Work in Workbook. VOCABULARY Put the letters in the correct order to make adjectives. The first letter is given (ex.1, p.4)

Slide 21-22. Work in Workbook. Complete the sentences with the words in Exercise 1 (ex.2, p.4)
