Topic: UKRAINE. The Climatic Zones of Ukraine.

Objectives:

• to read a poem;
• to learn the new vocabulary;
• to make up the sentences with the new words;
• to read a text about the climatic zones of Ukraine;
• to complete the mind maps;
• to enlarge students’ vocabulary;
• to develop the students’ reading and speaking skills;
• to encourage understanding and tolerance to others.

Outcomes: by the end of the lesson, the students will be able to use the vocabulary in oral and written speech, to retell about the climatic zones of Ukraine.

Warm-up:

Slide 5. Work with Student’s Book. Listen. Find and read the lines of the poem that contain the main words. Give your reasons why you think so. (ex.1, p.183)

Main activity:

Slide 7. Work with Student’s Book. Read the words and their definitions and make up sentences with these words. (ex.2, p.183)
