Objectives:

• to speak about role of the music in our life;
• to meet with famous Ukrainian singers the winners of Eurovision;
• to prepare individual project on a musician or a rock group ;
• to develop students’ creativity and listening and writing skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to speak music

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

Plan

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 4. The icons of the lesson.

Slide 5. Musical Instruments.

Main activity:

 Slide 6-8. Work with Student’s Book. a) Read the two articles. Use your dictionary if necessary (ex.7,p.153)

Slide 9-10. Work with Student’s Book . b) Work in pairs to role-play the situation ( ex.7, p.154)

Slide 11. Creative Writing.

Slide 12-13. Work with Student’s Book. Prepare your individual project on a musician or a rock group of your choice. Bring a poster or photos and report on it on class. You may use the plan below (ex.8,p.155)

Practice:

Slide 16-18. Work in Workbook. Link these pairs of clauses using AFTER, BEFORE, UNTIL, WHEN or WHILE ( ex.21, p.76)

Slide 19-20. Work in Workbook . The adjectives in the box are used to describe music. Make up sentences with them to express your attitude and uses of different kinds of music ( ex.22, p.77)
