Objectives:

• to read a text about Independence Day in the USA;
• to write a short paragraph about Independence Day in Ukraine;
• to make an ad for the school website;
• to write an e-mail about a special celebration;
• to interview the classmates about Ukrainian holidays and celebrations and make a report;
• to develop the students’ reading, speaking and writing skills;
• to promote the positive attitude through studying the language.

Outcomes: by the end of the lesson, the students will be able to write a short paragraph about Independence Day in Ukraine, to make an ad for the school website, to write an e-mail about a special celebration, to interview the classmates about Ukrainian holidays or celebrations and make a report.
