Objectives:

• to speak about genres of literature;
• to have practice in describing a book as an edition;
• to discuss the role of books in personal development;
• to develop students’ creativity and reading and speaking skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to speak about role of the books in our life

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 4. The icons of the lesson.

Slide 5. Critical Thinking.

Main activity:

Slide 6-9. Work with Student’s Book. Describe a book as an edition.

a) Take any book you like. Examine it’s cover, the title page and the table of contents (ex.4,p.117)

Slide 10-11. Work with Student’s Book . b) Give your opinion if this information is valuable to the reader ( ex.7, p.117)

Slide 12-14. Work with Student’s Book. Read the letter and speak about the genre Julia likes in the literature. Explain why ( ex.5, p.117)

Slide 15. Gymnastic for the eyes.

Practice:

Slide 16. Vocabulary Building.

Slide 17-18. Work with Working Book. Think about a book you have read recently. Answer the questions in a written form (ex.4, p.53)
