Objectives:

• to speak about different kinds of sport ;
• to have practice in using do, play, go with kinds of sport;
• to complete the text about sport preferences;
• to develop students’ writing and speaking skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to talk about sport

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 5. Sport Discussion Questions.

Main activity:

Slide 6-7. Work with Student’s Book. a) Listen and read the names of the sports (ex.1, p.95)

Slide 8-9. Work with Student’s Book. b) Copy the table below and sort put the kinds of sports from a). Add some other sports that you know (ex.1, p.95)

Slide 10-11. Work with Student’s Book. a) Make up nouns from the words in the box, as in the example (ex.2, p.95)

Slide 12-13. Work with Student’s Book. b) Add the ‘-ing’ ending to the verbs below to make up names of sports, as in the example (ex.2, p.95)

Slide 14. Keep in Mind.

Slide 15-16. Work with Student’s Book. Fill in go, play and do in the correct form (ex.3, p.95)
