Objectives:

  • to learn about using have to/don’t have to;
  • to improve listening skills through doing tasks ;
  • to have practice in pronunciation sentences with have to/don’t have to;
  • to develop students’ writing and listening skills;
  • to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to speak about free time

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 4. The icons of the lesson.

Slide 5.  Brainstorming.

Main activity:

Slide 6-7. Work with Student’s Book. GRAMMAR have to/don’t have to Match the two halves of the sentences (ex.1, p.109)

Slide 8-9. Work with Student’s Book. Now read the examples and then complete the rules with a and b (ex.2, p.109)

Slide 10-11. Work with Student’s Book. Complete the table with the correct form of have to ( ex.3, p.109)

Slide 12-14. Work with Student’s Book. Listen to Leo asking about the school trip. Tick the things he has to do ( ex.4, p.109)

Slide 15-16. Work with Student’s Book. Make pairs of sentences about Leo using have to / doesn’t have to, can/can’t ( ex.5, p.109)

Slide 17-18. Work with Student’s Book. Correct the mistakes in the sentences ( ex.6, p.109)
