Objectives:

• to learn vocabulary related to travelling by plane;
• to have practice in dialogues at the airport;
• to improve listening skills through doing tasks;
• to develop students’ reading and listening skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to talk about travelling

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 4. The icons of the lesson.

Slide 5. Interactive task.

Main activity:

Slide 6-7. Work with Student’s Book. Work in pairs. Ask your partner if he/she has ever been to the airport and what he/she knows about it (ex.1, p.135)

Slide 8-10. Work with Student’s Book. Read the statements and say who says them: a check-in clerk(C) or a passenger (P) (ex.2, p.135)

Slide 11-12. Work with Student’s Book. Listen to the talk and answer the questions (ex.3, p.135)

Slide 13-14. Work with Student’s Book. Listen to the talk between Patrick and Tony. Say if the statements below are true or false (ex.4, p.135)

Slide 15-17. Work with Student’s Book. Listen to both conversations again and say what the difference between them is (ex.5, p.135)
