Objectives:

• to speak about worlds landmarks;
• to write the advertisement for three places of interest in Kyiv and some other place;
• to develop students’ imaginary and writing skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to talk about famous landmarks

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 4. The icons of the lesson.

Slide 5. Travel Wishlist.

Main activity:

Slide 6-7. Work with Student’s Book. Match each text with its leaflet (ex.1, p.121)

Slide 8. Work with Student’s Book. a) Look at the advertisement above and say which place you would like to visit and why (ex.2, p.121)

Slide 9-10. Work with Student’s Book. Choose three places of interest in Kyiv. Write the advertisement for them (ex.3, p.121)

Slide 11. Gymnastic for the eyes.

Slide 13-15. Work in Workbook. Choose one of the capital cities from the box below and write a short paragraph about 2-3 famous landmarks there. Use the text in task 2 on page 113 in your SB as example (ex.1, p.95)
