• to do tasks about history of Kyivan Rus;

• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to talk about Kyiv

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

Warm-up:

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 6. Tour around Kyiv.

Slide 7. Discussion Questions.

Main activity:

Slide 8-9. Work with Student’s Book. Look at the photos and say where these places are located (ex.6, p.114)

Slide 10. Read a poem about Kyiv with emojis.

Slide 11-12. Work with Student’s Book. Read the texts below and match them to the photos in task 6 (ex.7, p.115)

Slide 13-14. Work with Student’s Book. Put the landmarks below into two columns (ex.8, p.115)

Slide 15. Comparing Cities.

Slide 16. Work with Student’s Book. In groups, surf the net for more landmarks in Kyiv. Choose one and tell the class about it (ex.9, p.115)
