Objectives:

• to speak about geographical objects;
• to work with map;
• to learn using of definite article THE with geographical names;
• to speak about our country;
• to develop students’ creativity and writing and speaking skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to speak about geography

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 5. Map Exploration.

Main activity:

 Slide 6-7. Work with Student’s Book. a) Look at the words below and decide what they are: capital cities, countries or continents. Name the continents 

 (ex.1,p.200)

Slide 8-9. Work with Student’s Book. b) Look at the map of the world. Label the continents. Use the words from (a) ( ex.1, p.200)

Slide 10-12. Work with Student’s Book. Check up how good you are at geography. Find the correct answers in the box on the next page (ex.2,p.200)

Slide 13. Interactive task 1.

Slide 14. Remember.

Slide 15-16. Work with Student’s Book. Put in ‘the’ or nothing (ex.3,p.201)

Slide 17. Gymnastic for the eyes.
