Objectives:

• to speak about favorite magazines;
• to improve reading skills;
• to make an ‘Information Page’ for your magazine;
• to develop students’ creativity and reading and speaking skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to speak about mass media

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 4. The icons of the lesson.

Slide 5. Icebreaker Discussion.

Main activity:

 Slide 6-7. Work with Student’s Book. a) Read the e-mail and explain the boy’s choice (ex.1,p.199)

Slide 8-9. Work with Student’s Book. b) Write a short e-mail presentation of any magazine or paper you like ( ex.1, p.199)

Slide 10-11. Work with Student’s Book. Make an ‘Information Page’ for your magazine (ex.2,p.199)

Slide 12. Gymnastic for the eyes.

Slide 13-16. Work in Workbook. Read the following opinions and write down four main functions of newspaper ( ex.12, p.90)
