Objectives:

• to speak about favorite sections of magazine;
• to improve reading skills through doing tasks;
• to organize a Magazine Launch Party;
• to develop students’ creativity and speaking and reading skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to speak about mass media

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

 

Plan

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 4. The icons of the lesson.

Slide 5. Interactive task 1.

Main activity:

 Slide 6-7. Work with Student’s Book. Choose your answer to the questions or add your own ones. Explain your answers (ex.1,p.194)

Slide 8-9. Work with Student’s Book . Look at the magazine covers below. Which one(s) would you like to read? Why? What do you think you will find in it/them? ( ex.2, p.194)

 Slide 10-11. Work with Student’s Book. a) Read the teen’s opinions about the newspapers and the topics they are interested in (ex.3,p.195)

Slide 12. Gymnastic for the eyes.

Slide 13. Interactive task 2.

Slide 14-15. Work with Student’s Book. b) Look through the opinion again and say what every person thinks about newspapers. Use the scheme below (ex.3,p.195)
