Objectives:

• to speak about British press;
• to find differences between tabloids and quality newspapers ;
• to discuss own press preferences ;
• to develop students’ creativity and listening and writing skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to speak about mass media

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

Warm-up:

Main activity:

 Slide 6-10. Work with Student’s Book. Listen to the text about British newspapers and magazines and name the two main groups they belong to (ex.1,p.189)

Slide 11-13. Work with Student’s Book . Complete the sentences ( ex.2, p.189)

Slide 15-17. Work with Student’s Book. Divide the newspapers into quality papers and tabloids according to their descriptions below. Fill in the table (ex.3,p.190)
