Objectives:

• to read the newspaper article;
• to introduce and practise the usage of the structure “not as … as”;

• to write a letter to a newspaper;
• to develop students’ reading, speaking and writing skills;
• to encourage understanding and tolerance to other people.

Outcomes: by the end of the lesson the students will be able to use the structure “not as … as” in oral and written speech, to express their opinion about the modern and traditional ways of reading books, to write a letter to a newspaper.
