Objectives:

• to speak about your last weekend with your friends;
• to to repeat irregular verbs and using them in the context;
• to find out your partner’s favourite activities and report in the class;
• to develop students’ speaking and writing skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to talk about free time activities

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

 

Plan

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 4. The icons of the lesson.

Slide 5. Vocabulary Brainstorm.

Main activity:

Slide 6-7. Work with Student’s Book. a) Read about George and say that he did the same last weekend (ex.1, p.55)

Slide 8-9. Work with Student’s Book. b) Ask and answer in pairs (ex.1, p.55)

Slide 10-11. Work with Student’s Book. a) Listen and repeat. Say what all the irregular verbs below have in common (ex.2, p.55)

Slide 12-13. Work with Student’s Book. b) Name the infinitives of the verbs above. Then write down the verbs in both forms into your notebooks (ex.2, p.55)

Slide 14-15. Work with Student’s Book. c) Use the verbs below to make true sentences about what you did yesterday (ex.2, p.55)

Slide 16-17. Work with Student’s Book. Talk to your partner. After you find out your partner’s favourite activities, ask them one or two of the groups of questions below. Note down their answers and report back to the class on them (ex.3, p.55)
