Objectives:

• to discuss character traits ;
• to have practice defining people's character traits;
• to develop students’ reading and writing skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to tell about people's character traits

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 4. The icons of the lesson.

Slide 5. Pre-reading questions.

Main activity:

Slide 6-7. Work with Student’s Book. Look at these words. What do they mean? (ex.1, p.18)

Slide 8-9. Work with Student’s Book. Say which of these words are positive and which are negative (ex.2 p.18)

Slide 10. Are you great detective?

Slide 11-12. Work with Student’s Book. Fill in the definitions below. Write in your notebook (ex.3, p.18)

Slide 13. Gymnastic for the eyes.

Slide 14-15. Work with Student’s Book. Look at the adjectives describing someone’s character and find the right ending (ex.4, p.19)

Practice:

Slide 16-18.  Task in Working Book. Look at the crossword below. Fill in the crossword cues (1-12) with the verbs from the box. There is an extra verb you don’t need ( ex.1, p.11)

Slide 19-20. Task in Working Book. Fill in the sentences with one of the adjectives from the crossword ( ex.2, p.12)
