Objectives:

• to review our knowledge about London and its landmarks;
• to make your own sightseeing tour around city;
• create a blog for any capital city you’ve been to/would like to visit;
• to develop student’s creativity, speaking and writing skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to talk about famous landmarks

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 4. The icons of the lesson.

Slide 5-6. London Trivia.

Main activity:

Slide 7-9. Work with Student’s Book. a) Work in pairs. Make your own sightseeing tour and choose two of the places below (ex.7, p.124)

Slide 10-11. Work with Student’s Book. b) Write about two famous places that you have seen, but don’t name them. Give your information to another pair. They must say where you have been to (ex.7, p.124)

Slide 12-13. Work with Student’s Book. Make a quiz about London. Work in groups of four (ex.8, p.125)

Slide 14-15. Work with Student’s Book. Write about some places of interest in Kyiv (ex.9, p.125)

Slide 16-17. Work with Student’s Book. Search for any capital city you’ve been to/would like to visit. Create a blog with photos (ex.10, p.125)

Slide 18. Gymnastic for the eyes.
