Objectives:

  • to learn how to give advices with should or shouldn’t;
  • to have practice in pronunciation of silent consonants;
  • to develop students’ speaking and writing skills;
  • to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to speak about health

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

 

Plan

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 4. The icons of the lesson.

Slide 5. Create a Poster.

Main activity:

Slide 6-7. Work with Student’s Book. GRAMMAR should / shouldn’t Look at these examples from the conversations. Then choose the correct words to complete the rules (ex.1, p.77)

Slide 8-9. Work with Student’s Book. Look at these examples from the conversations you heard on page 76. Match the questions to the answers. Notice how we make questions with should. Listen and check. Then repeat (ex.2, p.77)

Slide 10-11. Work with Student’s Book. Read the problems 1-7 and choose the correct advice for each one a-g. Then complete the advice with should/shouldn’t. There may be more than one possible answer (ex.3, p.77)

Slide 12-13. Work with Student’s Book. Correct the mistakes in the sentences (ex.4, p.77)

Slide 14. Gymnastic for the eyes.

Slide 15-16. Work with Student’s Book. PRONUNCIATION Silent consonants Some words in English have silent consonants. Find one silent consonant in each word. Listen and check. Then repeat (ex.5, p.77)
