Objectives:

• to do a project about your favorite sport;
• to develop students’ reading and speaking skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to talk about ice hockey

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 4. The icons of the lesson.

Slide 5. Interactive task.

Main activity:

Slide 6-7. Work with Student’s Book. Label the picture with the words 1-7 ( ex.A, p.115)

Slide 8-10. Work with Student’s Book. Read the text about ice hockey and choose one heading from a-d for each paragraph. There is one extra heading. Then listen, read and check your answers (ex. B, p.115)

Slide 11. Gymnastic for the eyes.

Slide 12-13. Work with Student’s Book. Read again and write T for true or F for False (ex. C, p.115)

Practice:

Slide 14-15. Work with Student’s Book. Discuss the following (ex. D, p.115)

Slide 16. Work with Student’s Book. PROJECT Think of your favorite sport and write a short text, like the one above. Write about its history, the equipment you need and the rules of the sport (p.115)
