Objectives:

• to do a project “Computer survey”;
• to have virtual meeting with the smallest computer;
• to develop students’ reading and speaking skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to speak about computers

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Main activity:

Slide 6-10. Work with Student’s Book. READING Do you know the names of any early computers? Read the article. Then complete the sentences with one or two words from it (ex.1, p.70)

Slide 11. Talking Points.

 Slide 12-13. Work with Student’s Book. VOCABULARY Computers and the internet Look at the article. Find the words in the box. Match them to the definitions ( ex.2, p.71)

Slide 14-15. Work with Student’s Book. Match the verbs to the nouns. Then make sentences ( ex.2, p.71)

Slide 16-17. Work with Student’s Book. Read the survey. Choose three or four questions and write two more of your own. Walk around the class asking your questions. Write sentences about what you found out ( ex.3,p.71)
