Topic: Books. There is no friend so faithful as a good book.

Objectives:

  • to read a proverb, giving Ukrainian equivalents;
  • to introduce and practise the new vocabulary;
  • to make up the sentences, using the given phrases;
  • to sort the expressions into the groups;
  • to complete the dialogue;
  • to tell about a book and its writer;
  • to broaden students’ vocabulary;
  • to develop the students’ speaking skills;
  • to encourage understanding and tolerance to other people.

Outcomes: by the end of the lesson, the students will be able to use the new vocabulary in oral and written speech, to tell about a book and its writer.

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.
