Topic: Eating Out. Festival of Street Food

Objectives:

  • to speak about street food festivals;
  • to have practice in pronunciation sounds /ʌ/ and /ɒ/;
  • to improve listening skills;
  • to practice saying these dates, prices, numbers and times;
  • to develop students’ speaking and listening skills;
  • to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to speak about food

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

 

Plan

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 4. The icons of the lesson.

Slide 5. Interactive task.

Main activity:

Slide 6-7. Work with Student’s Book. PRONUNCIATION /ʌ/ and /ɒ/ Listen to the words in the box and repeat them. Listen to the sound of the underlined letters. Then put the words in the correct columns (ex.3, p.67)

Slide 8-10. Work with Student’s Book. Listen to a boy speaking to his friend Nadia. What does he want Nadia to do? ( ex.1, p.67)

 Slide 11-13. Work with Student’s Book. LISTENING In pairs, practice saying these dates, prices, numbers and times. Write some more and test a partner. Then listen and complete the notes ( ex.2, p.67)

Slide 14-16. Work with Student’s Book. SPEAKING Listen to a girl talking to a food seller. What does she order? ( ex.1, p.67)

Slide 17. Gymnastic for the eyes.

Slide 18-19. Work with Student’s Book. SPEAKING Complete the conversation from Ex.1. Listen and check. In pairs, practice the conversation ( ex.2, p.67)
