Topic: Eating Out. Favorite Food

Objectives:

  • to learn using as…as or not as…as and comparative adjectives in the context;
  • to have practice in writing sentences to compare the two things;
  • to make a food collage;
  • to develop students’ speaking and writing skills;
  • to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to speak about food

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

 

Plan

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 4. The icons of the lesson.

Slide 5. Food Interview.

Main activity:

Slide 6-7. Work with Student’s Book. GRAMMAR as…as Read what Nicky thinks and complete the sentences with the same or different (ex.1, p.65)

Slide 8-9. Work with Student’s Book. Compare the pairs of things using as…as or not as…as ( ex.2, p.65)

 Slide 10-12. Work with Student’s Book. Comparative adjectives Read the rules. Write the comparative form of the adjectives in the box ( ex.3, p.65)

Slide 13. Gymnastic for the eyes.

Slide 14-15. Work with Student’s Book. Correct the mistakes in the sentences ( ex.4, p.65)

Slide 16-17. Work with Student’s Book. Think of two different things for each category. Then in pairs, write sentences to compare the two things. Use adjectives from Ex. 3 and any other adjectives you know. Check each other’s sentences ( ex.5, p.65)

Practice:

Slide 18-19. Work in Working Book. GRAMMAR Comparative adjectives; as…..as Complete the sentences with as…as or not as…as and adjectives in brackets (ex.1, p.49)
