Objectives:

• to listen, read and act out the talk;
• to interview each other, make notes and report to the class;
• to develop students’ writing and speaking skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to talk about cooking

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 4. The icons of the lesson.

Slide 5-6. Guess the Dish.

Main activity:

Slide 7-8. Work with Student’s Book. a) Listen and read the talk. Guess the meaning of the phrases in bold (ex.1, p.85)

Slide 9. Work with Student’s Book. b) Act out the talk (ex.1, p.85)

Slide 10-11. Work with Student’s Book. Work in pairs. Remember what recipes you know, for example boiled potatoes, fried eggs, baked meat, etc. Choose one and tell your partner about it. You can also name the kitchen items that you use (ex.2, p.85)

Slide 12. Cooking Verbs Charades.

Slide 13. Gymnastic for the eyes.

Practice:

Slide 14-15. Work in Workbook. Complete the dialogue with the phrases from the box. Act it out in pairs (ex.1, p.66)
