Topic: Clothes and Fashion. Problems of online shopping

Objectives:

  • to speak about shopping;
  • to have practice in pronunciation words beginning with /s/, /ʃ/, /tʃ/ ;
  • to improve listening skills through doing tasks ;
  • to describe your idea for clothes made of unusual things;
  • to develop students’ creativity, listening and speaking skills;
  • to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to speak about clothes

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

 

Plan

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 4. The icons of the lesson.

Slide 5. Draw and Describe.

Main activity:

Slide 6-7. Work with Student’s Book. PRONUNCIATION Words beginning with /s/, /ʃ/, /tʃ/ Look at the words and think about the first sound. Put the words into the correct columns. Listen and check. Then repeat (ex.4, p.57)

Slide 8-9. Work with Student’s Book. PRONUNCIATION Now say this! ( ex.5, p.57)

 Slide 10-12. Work with Student’s Book. LISTENING Listen to the three people talking about their ideas for unusual things. Complete the table ( ex.1, p.57)

Slide 13-14. Work with Student’s Book. Listen again. Complete the sentences three times: once for henry, once for Molly and once for Lauren. Choose clothes or jewellery ( ex.2, p.57)

Slide 15-16. Work with Student’s Book. PRONUNCIATION In pairs, describe your idea for clothes made of unusual things ( ex.3, p.57)
