Objectives:

  • to speak about eSports;
  • to improve listening skills through doing tasks;
  • to have practice in using suffix –er correctly;
  • to posting an opinion on a blog;
  • to develop students’ speaking and writing skills;
  • to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to talk about activities

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

 

Plan

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 4. The icons of the lesson.

Slide 5. Discussion Starter.

Main activity:

Slide 6-7. Work with Student’s Book. VOCABULARY Find the words from the box in the article. Match them to the definitions 1-6 (ex.1, p.57)

Slide 8-10. Work with Student’s Book. Find these words in the text : winner, player, footballer. What do they mean? (ex.2, p.57)

Slide 11-13. Work with Student’s Book. Make people from these words ( ex.3, p.57)

Slide 14. Work with Student’s Book. Make some sentences using at least one word from Ex.1 and one word from Ex.3/ in pairs, compare your sentences ( ex.4, p.57)

Slide 15-16. Work with Student’s Book. LISTENING You will hear a girl called Lily talking to her dad about eSports and mind sports. Which of these words do you think you will hear? Listen once and tithe ones you hear ( ex.1, p.57)

Slide 17-18. Work with Student’s Book. LISTENING Read the sentences, then listen again. Decide if each sentence is right ( ) or wrong ( ) ( ex.2, p.57)
