Topic: Favorite Places My Special Place

Objectives:

  • to listen to the texts about teens favorite places and doing tasks;
  • to have practice in writing a description of a favorite place;
  • to develop students’ listening and writing skills;
  • to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to speak about special place

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

 

Plan

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 4. The icons of the lesson.

Slide 5. Photography or Digital Art.

Main activity:

Slide 6-11. Work with Student’s Book. LISTENING Listen to three teenagers, George, Abby and Jo, talking about their favorite places. Look at the photos A-C. Match the teenagers to their favorite places. Write the letters in column 1 of the table (ex.1, p.49)

Slide 12-13. Work with Student’s Book. Listen again. What do they like doing in their special places? Write the answers in column 2 of the table ( ex.2, p.49)

Slide 14-17. Work with Student’s Book. PREPARE TO WRITE A description of a favorite place (p.49)

Slide 18. Gymnastic for the eyes.

Practice:

 Slide 19-20. Work in Working Book. LISTENING Listen to the interview with a teenage blogger about her favorite place at home. Is KJ’s favorite room big or small? (ex.1, p.39)

Slide 21-22. Work in Working Book. Listen again and choose the correct answers (ex.2, p.39)

Slide 23-24. Work in Working Book. Listen again. Are the sentences right or wrong ? (ex.3, p.39)

Slide 25-26. Work in Working Book. WRITING Read the text. Number the questions in the order Matthew answer them (ex.1, p.39)
