Objectives:

• to speak about film review ;
• to improve listening skills through doing tasks;
• to write about the film shown in the poster or about another film you’ve seen;
• to develop students’ listening and writing skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to talk about entertainment

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

Plan

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 4. The icons of the lesson.

Slide 5. Guess the Movie Character.

Main activity:

Slide 6-7. Work with Student’s Book. LISTEN A) Listen to three different people talking about films they have seen. Choose which kind of film (a-d) each speaker is talking about. There’s one extra film you do not need to use (ex.2, p.51)

Slide 8-9. Work with Student’s Book. B) Now listen again and match the speakers with the sentences a-d. There’s one extra sentences which you don’t need to use (ex.2, p.51)

Slide 10-11. Work with Student’s Book. SPEAK Choose a film you have seen, and tick ( ) the appropriate boxes in the table. Then talk in pairs about the film (ex.3, p.51)

Slide 12. Gymnastic for the eyes.

Practice:

 Slide 13-14. Work with Student’s Book. WRITE A) Read the plan in the Writing section at the back of the book and the information about Spider-Man : No Way Home to the poster. Decide which paragraph piece of information should be in. Write 1, 2 or 3 (ex.4, p.51)

Slide 15-16. Work with Student’s Book. B) Use the notes below to write a film review. You can write about the film shown in the poster or about another film you’ve seen (ex.4, p.51)

Slide 17-18.  Work in Workbook. B) Read and write the type of film that the people are talking about (ex.1, p.44)

Slide 19. Interactive task.
