Objectives:

• to speak about your cousin;
• to read and role-play dialogues about kid’s relatives and doing tasks;
• to tell your partner about your cousins ( uncles, aunts or grandparents);
• to develop students’ reading and listening skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to talk about relatives

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

 

Plan

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 4. The icons of the lesson.

Slide 5. Interactive task 1.

Main activity:

Slide 6-8. Work with Student’s Book. a) Listen to Emma and find out about her cousins. Answer the questions ( ex.1, p.35)

Slide 9. Work with Student’s Book. b) Tell your partner about your cousins ( uncles, aunts or grandparents) ( ex.1, p.35)

Slide 10-11. Work with Student’s Book. Listen and read the dialogue. Then act it out (ex .2, p.35)

Slide 12. Gymnastic for the eyes.

Slide 13-14. Work with Student’s Book. Work in pairs. Interview your partner about his/her family. Make some notes and then tell the class about them (ex .3, p.35)

Practice:

Slide 15-16. Work in Workbook. Write about Emma’s cousins (ex.1, p.24)

Slide 17-19. Work in Workbook. Listen to the dialogue in task 2 on page 35 in your SB. Read the descriptions below and write the name of each person: John, Jane, Molly or Ned (ex.2, p.24)

Slide 20-21. Work in Workbook. Finish the sentences (ex.3, p.24)

Slide 22-23. Work in Workbook. Think of the questions about your partner’s cousin. Ask him/her about them. Write down his/her answers (ex.4, p.24)
