Objectives:

• to speak about Paralympic sports ;
• to improve reading skills;
• to watch video about talented wheelchair athlete and do tasks;
• to develop students’ listening and reading skills;
• to provide a stable and welcoming atmosphere in the class.

Outcomes: at the end of the lesson, the students will be able to talk about paralympic sports

Materials: Power Point Presentation, Student’s Book, Workbook.

Warm-up:

Slide 2. Greeting.

Slide 3. Introduction. Aim of the lesson.

Pre-activity:

Slide 5-6. Vocabulary Building.

Main activity:

Slide 7-8. Work with Student’s Book. In pairs, discuss the questions with your partner (ex.1, p.18)

Slide 9-10. Work with Student’s Book. FactFile

Slide 11. Gymnastic for the eyes.

Slide 12-14. Work with Student’s Book. Read the text in boxes 1-6 and match them to the sports in the photos. Say sitting volleyball or wheelchair rugby (ex.2, p.18)

Slide 15-16. Work with Student’s Book. Read the texts again and complete the table (ex.3, p.18)
